Allmän information:

The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publicly funded international school in Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate’s curricula.  The Primary Years Program (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age, the Middle Years Program (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Program (DP) is available for students from 16-19 year of age.  The school’s language of instruction is English for all subjects.

Tjänstebeskrivningen:

This fall ISSR will need a school counselor for students in MYP and DP with occasional consulting in PYP.  The counselor is a member of the student care teams and the wellbeing team, working together with advisors and administrators to monitor the social/emotional needs of the ISSR student body.  The school’s language of instruction is English. However, the role also requires formal documentation in Swedish.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with community resources (social services, psychiatric services, law enforcement, young health care centers, etc.)
• Work with students with acute needs
• Work preventatively in advisory and whole school context.
• Conduct professional conversations with individual students and their families.
• Being a member of the student health care teams and the wellbeing team.
• Participating in establishing, implementing, and revising intervention plans.
• Being a part of the school’s quality assurance work

Qualifications:

• Socionomexamen or equivalent
• Communicates with fluency in spoken and written Swedish and English

Other qualifications may also include:

• Worked as a school counselor in a Swedish setting.
• Experienced in working with social work organizations.
• Competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard, HTML, and other tools for learning).
