Description of the Workplace

Kungsholmens gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium has about 1,300 students and just over 100 employees, 75 of those are teachers. We offer the Natural Science programme, the Social Science programme, the Humanities programme, the International Business programme and Language Introduction. Our vision is Knowledge and Culture for an Active Influence in a Globalized world and our ambition is to develop students' knowledge and promote their readiness to meet future challenges. We want students to be able to take responsibility for and influence the future development of society in a sustainable global perspective. The school offers an exciting environment with its three sections; the Swedish section, the Choir section and the International section. The sections interact with each other within the school. In the International section the language of instruction is English, but we follow the Swedish curriculum. Music is of great importance to our school and the school's Choir classes are an important institution in Stockholm's music life. In addition, we have an active Student Union with a rich sports and association life. We are continuously developing our systematic quality work and pedagogical development. For several years we have worked with professional development with a focus on sustainable learning. Arbetsbeskrivning/Job description

Vi har en vakans för en legitimerad lärare i svenska och engelska eller ett modernt språk såsom franska eller tyska. Vakansen finns inom skolans internationella sektion där undervisning är på engelska. Kurserna i svenska är från sv 1 - sv 3 och på Natural Science programme. Kurserna i engelska kan vara steg 5-steg 7. På International Section läses en 5 och en 6 i årskurs 1 och en 7 i årskurs 2. I engelska behöver du vara på hemspråksnivå för att undervisa på International Section.

Förutom undervisning är våra lärare mentorer för en grupp elever och erbjuder stöd kring elevens hela skolsituation. Som mentor är man också kontakten mellan skolan och hemmet.

We have a vacancy for a certified teacher of Swedish and English or else another modern language such as French or German. The vacancy is within the school's International Section where teaching is conducted in English. Courses in Swedish include Sv 1 - Sv 3 and in English can be En step 5 - step 7 on the Natural Science programme. You need to have English at native speaker level to teach English in the International Section.

In addition to teaching, our teachers are also Mentors for a group of students where the main task is to offer support to students around their whole school situation. The Mentor is also the link between school and the home.

Kvalifikationer/Qualifications

Vi förväntar oss att du har en universitetsutbildning i svenska och engelska eller moderna språk och lärarlegitimation från Skolverket. Det är en fördel om du även har erfarenhet av undervisning på gymnasienivå.

Du måste vara väl förtrogen med IKT i undervisningen och även med fjärrundervisning då det är troligt att det kan förekomma även under nästa läsår.

We presume that you have a University degree in Swedish and English or a modern language and a Teaching Certificate from Skolverket. It is advantageous if you also have experience of working at Gymnasium level. 
You should be proficient in using ICT in the classroom and also with Distance Learning as there is a possibility that this will be required in the coming academic year.
