Allmän information:

The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate’s curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) is offered to students from 16-19 years of age. The school’s language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.

Tjänstebeskrivning:

ISSR needs a French teacher to work in the MYP (grades 6-10). The position includes, participating in the ISSR school community and working actively to build a culture of learning through collaboration.  

Responsibilities include:

• Organizing and carrying out dynamic and well-crafted language lessons to the MYP students using inquiry-based methods.
• Documenting student progress in accordance with MYP guidelines.
• Acting as an advisor (mentor) to approximately 12-15 students
• Maintaining ongoing parent/school communication
• Participating in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Participating regularly in collaborative planning with colleagues across the school
• Continued professional development

Requirements:

• University degree in education with a focus on French language acquisition
• Fluent English-speaker, both written and spoken to a professional level

Additional desirable qualifications include:

• MYP or IB training and/or experience
• work experience from an international school environment
• Strong IT competence with educational ICT tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
